CHRISTY M. PHILLIPS, APR

Christy Phillips has extensive experience in communications and public relations, with an emphasis on media relations, crisis communications and business communications.

Ms. Phillips is a Vice President and Communications Manager at Wachovia Corporation where she manages corporate and financial media issues and provides internal communications consulting to the company’s Legal and Finance divisions. She is also responsible for overseeing the Corporate Communications crisis communication plans and emergency response process for any corporate or national event.

During her tenure at Wachovia, she has also managed strategic internal and external communications for the company’s eCommerce, Technology and Operations divisions.

Before joining Wachovia, Ms. Phillips worked for Duke Engineering & Services, a multinational energy and environmental firm. She was responsible for internal and external communications for key energy, environmental and nuclear energy projects.

She holds a Master’s of Business Administration from the McColl School of Business at Queens University and a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Radio and Television from Western Carolina University.

Ms. Phillips resides in Charlotte. She is a member of the Public Relations Society of America and is Accredited in Public Relations. She was named to PR News 15 to Watch list in 2006. In her spare time, Ms. Phillips serves on the Board of Directors for Charlotte Emergency Housing. She also serves as Regional Collegiate Coordinator for Delta Zeta Sorority’s North Carolina Chapters. She has also volunteered for the Carolinas Arthritis Foundation.
