Jen WalshJen Walsh

Jen Walsh was born in Washington, DC and grew up in Parsippany, New Jersey.  She attended the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Journalism.  She moved to Hong Kong to begin her career as a foreign correspondent in 1990.  Jen worked as a writer and editor for the Asian Sources Media Group, the largest trade publisher in Asia.  She subsequently served as the Business Editor for AmCham, the monthly magazine of the American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong. 

In 1993, Jen returned to the United States and worked as a freelance writer for the Economist Intelligence Unit in New York City before joining Probe Research, Inc. as a technology and telecom analyst.  In 1994, she moved to Washington, DC to work as a writer and editor for Telecommunications Reports, a weekly newsletter covering the latest business, policy and regulatory developments in the industry.  Then in 1996, she became Industry Affairs Director with NextWave Telecom, Inc., a multi-billion-dollar wireless communications start-up.  She served as the primary spokesperson for all major media outlets and trade publications. 

In 1998, Jen joined PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) as a Marketing Manger within the Technology, Information, Communications & Entertainment consulting practice.  She was subsequently promoted to serve as the Global Web Director of pwcconsulting.com, overseeing all business, technical and editorial operations.  In 2002, IBM purchased the Management Consulting Services division of PwC, and Jen was selected to serve as Worldwide Leader, Web & Interactive Strategy for the new entity, IBM Business Consulting Services.  In 2004, Jen joined GE as the Global Director of Digital Media, where she is responsible for ge.com, inside GE, and digital advertising and brand initiatives.
