2015 Top Places to Work in PR: Eric Mower + Associates

Eric Mower + Associates (EMA) offers perks that celebrate its people and help them do their jobs better. EMA rewards them for good work and participation in internal programs, encourages them to live healthy lifestyles and helps them find ways to give back to their communities. EMA employees work hard, but they play hard too.

Each year, EMA holds a series of anniversary luncheons to celebrate employee milestones of 1, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35 years and longer. Any EMA employee with 15 or more years of service is invited to attend and celebrate their colleagues. The events are held in four EMA cities and celebrate about 150 employees annually.

The culture EMA has created is so enjoyable that often employees who leave EMA want to come back. EMA happily welcomes employees back through the firm’s EMAgain Club. Approximately 9% of EMA employees are people who left EMA only to come back. This speaks volumes about EMA offering a rewarding career experience for employees.

EMA's Council on Diversity and Inclusion assesses the many aspects of diversity at EMA, and recommends appropriate actions to improve workforce diversity in terms of race, color, religion, age, gender, lifestyle, sexual orientation, national origin, and physical abilities. The mission is to help EMA create a workplace environment that encourages and supports everyone’s differences. To do that, the council recommends and promotes policies, procedures and programs to help both the company and its employees recruit for, value and respect diversity. Of EMA’s executive operations committee, 40% are women and of EMA’s eight offices, three are led by women.

EMAcademy is the agency’s corporate university. In 2013 and 2014, all employees each received 70 hours of digital marketing training through courses led by industry experts at Market Motive. Incoming new hires receive Market Motive training as part of the onboarding process.
