SHSMD CONFERENCE GEARS UP FOR ATLANTA, SEPT. 27-30

Hundreds of healthcare marketing and PR executives are gearing up for one of the largest industry conference of the year--the First Joint Annual Educational Conference and Exhibits to be held Sept. 27-30 in Atlanta.

This will be the first conference by the American Society for Health Care Marketing and Public Relations (ASHCMPR) and the Society for Healthcare Planning and Marketing (SHPM)'s newly merged Society for Healthcare Strategy and Market Development (SHSMD). Together, the new Chicago-based association boasts more than 6,000 members.

With seven nationally known keynote speakers including Coretta Scott King, widow of Martin Luther King; more than 80 sessions across 10 tracks and nine expanded workshops, the conference, called Carrying the Torch of Change, may prove to be the industry's largest convention.

Sharmi Banik, editor of Healthcare PR & Marketing News, will be attending the conference and will provide comprehensive coverage of the event in the October 10 issue.

The conference headquarters is the Atlanta Marriott Marquis and conference fees are $595 for members and $850 for non-members.
